RESCUE services were called to a bus fire on the A23.
Fire and rescue crews from Hurstpierpoint, Haywards Heath, Crawley, Burgess Hill and Horley responded after a call for assistance at 2.51pm today (Sunday June7)
Crews discovered on arrival that someone had already put out the fire in the engine compartment of the vehicle on the northbound road near Warninglid.
A spokeswoman for the fire and rescue service said the crews had cooled the engine and made sure the scene was safe and left at 3.23pm
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "There were no passengers on the coach, it was just the driver."
