The Old Sweet House in Horsham is closing down, a notice outside the shop reads today (Tuesday September 3).
The Market Square store’s closure comes after the announcement that the Early Learning Centre in West Street is to shut its doors for good at the end of the month.
However, numerous shops opened for the first time in Horsham town centre over the weekend ahead of West Street’s £500,000 facelift.
Shoppers welcomed popular milkshake chain Shakeaway and women’s retailer Taking Shape in the Carfax. Betting store Ladbrokes and home interiors specialist Sharps Bedrooms sprung up in West Street.
New music shop Sussex Soundhouse has also been welcomed to Blatchford Close.
And excitement surrounds the possibility of chicken restaurant Nando’s adding to East Street’s array of eateries after it submitted a planning application to Horsham District Council (HDC) for part of the old Kings Head Hotel.
