Jack hopes to inspire Crawley students
Jack Tavener has become a Cambassador at the University of Cambridge JPCO
A student from Crawley has become the University of Cambridge’s newest member of an outreach team, which helps inspire people worried about money to apply to top universities. Jack Tavener, from Maidenbower, is in his second year of a postgraduate study at the university.
He has chosen to work at open days, summer schools and regional conferences to reassure potential students that money worries should not be a barrier to applying, after he was offered financial support.
Jack said: “I had thought Cambridge was out of reach for someone like me academically, socially and financially.
“As a CAMbassador I’m looking forward to talking to students, parents and teachers, providing accurate and relevant information, and allaying any concerns or fears.”
