The swimming pools at Horsham Pavilions in the Park leisure centre are to close for two months for repairs.
Leisure centre operator, Places for People Leisure, made the announcement ‘with regret’ that the swimming pools will be closed from December 1 to February 1 next year.
Places for People, which manages leisure centres for local authorities, said: “Vital renovation works will be carried out on the 12-year-old building as part of the ongoing maintenance programme to ensure a quality customer experience in years to come.
“All inclusive and swim members of the Pavilions in the Park Leisure Centre are encouraged to use the following facilities during the two month renovation; Billingshurst Leisure Centre, Steyning Leisure Centre, Dorking Leisure Centre, Cranleigh Leisure Centre, The Dolphin Haywards Heath and The Triangle Burgess Hill.’’
From December 1, work on the centre in Horsham Park will include repairs to the pools drainage channels and steel structures in the pool hall, as well as behind the scenes plant room work that cannot be carried out while the pool is in use.
The Fitness Suite and dry side workout classes will be unaffected by the works and will follow their normal timetables.
Tim Bolton, contract manager for Places for People, said: “The works are essential to extend the life of the pools at Pavilions in The Park and to ensure that we can maintain a quality customer experience in years to come.
“We apologise for this inconvenience and encourage our customers to visit the website to find alternative local pools and the options available to them. We look forward to welcoming everyone back into our pool facilities in February 2015.”
