Grim find of dead cats and dogs in Sompting

DOG WARDENS are urging Sompting residents to be vigilant of suspicious activity after a grim discovery of several decomposing puppies and kittens last week.

Worthing and Adur Council Services received reports on Tuesday, February 19, of a black sack containing the dead animals, which had been dumped at the north end of Halewick Lane.

When dog wardens investigated, they found it impossible to determine the number of animals inside but estimated it to be between three and five.

The only partially identifiable puppy was white with black spots.

According the the council, local reports suggested the sack had been there for over a week.

The incident follows a similar dumping of live puppies around Christmas, in the same area.
