Florence is as quiet as a mouse

Florence Barton is a bubbly eight-year-old who loves to chat to her friends so when she hit on the idea of being silent for the day it was quite a challenge.
Florence remained as quiet as a church mouse at Newick C of E Primary School and raised more than £100 to help children with kidney problems at Great Ormond Street Hospital’s kidney unit.
Florence had a special reason for helping others – she was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune condition that can result in kidney problems.
Her mum Jo said: “Florence was diagnosed with Henoch Schonlein Purpura last November. Fortunately, she is not suffering badly but wanted to raise money to help other children with this debilitating condition and to raise awareness.”
A lot is still unknown about Henoch Schonlein Purpura but it seems it can start from the body reacting unusually to a straight forward virus. F
