Firefighters called to house fire in Worthing

FIREFIGHTERS were called to Markwick Mews, Worthing, after reports of a house fire last night (Tuesday, February 26).

The blaze had started in the lounge of a property and two fire engines from Worthing Fire Station attended the scene at 10.58pm.

A smoke alarm had alerted those inside to the fire and no-one was injured.

The property suffered a small amount of damage from the fire, with the majority of damage caused by smoke.

The cause of the fire was recorded as accidental ignition.
