Councillor’s first surgery proves popular
Cllr Helena Croft, Horsham District Council
A number of interesting topics were discussed at the first Horsham town centre surgery held by Horsham District Council’s Cabinet Member for Horsham Town, Communication and Special Projects, earlier this month.
Helena Croft met with a number of local people who had interesting comments to make at the first of her new drop in surgeries, which are being run at Horsham District Council’s Museum and Art Gallery in the Causeway in Horsham town centre.
Topics that were discussed at the first surgery on Thursday 24 January 2013 included parking in the town, improvements to Blackhorse Way, pop up shops, local jobs for local people and the night time economy among others.
Local businesses, organisations and residents are invited to attend the surgeries, the next one will be in March, and share their views on the town centre with Mrs Croft.
She is leading on developing Horsham District Council’s strategy and actions to build on Horsham town’s success as a place in which time is truly well spent.
Mrs Croft said: “I was really pleased that residents took the time to come and talk through their issues on Horsham town with me.
“It’s important that we get to hear the views of the people and hopefully come up with some interesting ways forward.
”I urge anyone with a question, comment or idea on Horsham town to come to my next surgery in March.”
If anyone has thoughts and ideas on how the ‘Horsham Experience’ can be improved, priorities for its management or would like to volunteer to get involved with the Council’s projects and initiatives in partnership with others then they are invited to come along.
The next surgery will take place on Thursday March 28 2013 from 11.30am to 1.30pm in the Hurst Room in Horsham District Council’s Museum and Art Gallery, The Causeway, Horsham.
Surgery dates for 2013 are as follows:
Thursday 28 March 2013
Thursday 23 May 2013
Thursday 25 July 2013
Thursday 26 September 2013
Thursday 28 November 2013
Anyone can drop in to the sessions on the day but ten minute appointments can also be requested by contacting Horsham District Council by emailing leisure@horsham.gov.uk or call 01403 215263.
