Campaigner is rewarded for his ‘outstanding’ work
Tony Reynolds
Health campaigner Tony Reynolds has been recognised for his dedicated work representing patients’ interests.
A West Sussex ‘Certificate of Achievement’ was presented to him when he attended a meeting of the Local Involvement Networks (LINKs) earlier this month.
Mr Reynolds is a member of LINKs, which acts as a bridge between patients, the NHS and social care.
The citation described Mr Reynolds’ record as “outstanding” and was signed by Mrs Susan Pyper, Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex.
Mr Reynolds, 76, set up and chairs the Central Sussex Independent Patients Forum and also runs the Burgess Hill Diabetes Support Group. He is a member of the Mid Sussex Older People’s Council and is on a task force set up by the GP commissioning group for this area to improve care for the frail and elderly.
A modest Mr Reynolds, who lives in Burgess Hill, said of his award: “It was all a complete surprise to me but on reflection I am proud to have it!”
The presentation was made by Michael Coleman, chairman of West Sussex County Council and Brenda Large JP, Deputy Lieutenant of West Sussex.
