Appeal after £600 taken from bag in Haywards Heath

Police are appealing for information after a woman had £600 taken from her handbag.

The police received a report that a woman, who withdrew the cash from over the counter in Halifax Bank in South Road, Haywards Heath, discovered it had been stolen from her handbag when she went to pay for a card in W H Smith, also in South Road, at 12.15pm on Monday, March 11.

She said she believed the money must have been stolen while she was looking at cards in the shop.

Anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously at that time in the area are asked to call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 0727 of 11/3.
