A Coolham primary school is one of three winners of a competition to name West Sussex County Council’s gritters this year.
Pupils at William Penn Primary School, in Brooks Green Road, came up with the name ‘Snow Buster’ and this week one of the Balfour Beatty-operated gritters will visit the school to be christened.
The vehicle will visit the school, where pupils will be presented with a grit bin, grit salt, snow shovel, and a £20 High Street voucher for the child who came up with the winning name.
Pupils will also be given a safety talk about the ‘Be Safe Be Seen’ campaign this winter.
Durrington First School and East Preston Junior School were the other two winners.
Last year Wisborough Green Primary School was one of the three schools to name a gritter (pictured).
