Scooter show to raise funds for charity

The fundraiser, called GCC Scooter Custom Show, will be hosted at Goring Conservative Club and will include a live band, DJs, trade stalls and a barbecue to show that the scooter scene is still buzzing with life on the south coast.

Tim Shergold, one of the organisers of the event, said: “We decided to do this again for Alzheimer’s Society because we raised a very nice amount last time and seeing as it’s for such a good cause, we felt it worthy of another year.

“It’s great to think that we will be raising funds to help support people to live well with dementia and to fund research to one day find a cure for dementia.”

The event will be help on Saturday, March 25, between noon and 4pm, and again from 7pm to 1am.

Jess Hillicks, Alzheimer’s Society community fundraiser for West Sussex and Surrey, welcomed GCC Scooter Custom Show’s decision to boost the charity. She said:

“It’s great that Tim and the Team are giving their time to support Alzheimer’s Society. Dementia can happen to anyone and there is currently no cure. But with the right support, people can live well with dementia.​

“As a charity, we rely on the generosity of individuals and groups like the GCC Custom Scooter Show to help us continue our vital work so that Alzheimer’s Society can continue leading the fight against dementia.”
