Two choirs, the U3A SongBirds Ladies’ choir and the children of the Rustington Community Primary School choir, were invited to perform at the event, which was held on Sunday, November 27. There were more than 60 children on stage, together with their music teacher David Burrows. They performed four contemporary songs - Sing Hallelujah, Christmas Hit, Love Shone Down and Winter Wonderland. Künzell, in Germany, has been twinned with Rustington since 2002. As this was an event celebrating the twinning, the two choirs combined with a rendition of two German carols: Stille Nacht (Silent Night) and O Tannenbaum (O Christmas Tree). There was also a raffle and a craft stall.
