The Friends of Whyke Green held a special tree dedication to Dave Tilley in the presence of the mayor, deputy mayor, county and district councillors, as well as local residents.

The tree was dedicated in recognition of all of his hard work and his dedication to the Whyke Estate for more than a decade. Dave entered the estate into the In Bloom competition over the past 10 years in which it has won awards every year, even achieving both silver and gold awards. A plaque was also dedicated to him in the Whyke Estate War Memorial Garden for his achievements. Dave said: “The tree and the plaque were both a pleasant surprise as I did not have no idea about either of these recognitions”. The tree was donated by Shopwhyke Garden Centre on Tangmere Road, Chichester.
