Over the week, the children were inspired by the Imagination Foundation to collaborate to create things out of cardboard.

Results included an interactive fairground, complete with ghost train, carousel and dodgems. There was also an enormous pirate ship, famous landmarks from around the world and a fabulous water park with rides.

Cathy Oldfield, art and DT co-ordinator, said: “We believe at Loxwood School that creative play is one of the most important things we can do to prepare the children for the future.

“It develops 21st century skills and prepares children to be next-generation innovators, and the children have excelled themselves.”

Yesterday afternoon, the parents were invited in to the school to see the children’s imaginations in action.

“We can’t wait for our next creative play challenge,” added Mrs Oldfield.
