Free market pitches are being offered at Horsham’s Mixed Market to budding small business owners who want to make their mark in the market and bring a new product to Horsham’s shoppers.

Horsham Market has teamed up with the National Market Traders Federation (NMTF) to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs in the area to start up a business on the mixed market, which trades in the Carfax on Thursdays and in the Bishopric on Saturdays.

Through a scheme called First Pitch, supported by Horsham Markets, the town’s business owners of the future can trade on the market for up to 12 months at discounted rent and are given personalised support from the NMTF.

Interested applicants need to apply by Friday March 15 on their website at www.nmtf.co.uk

Joe Harrison, chief executive of the NMTF, said many of the country’s well-known brands started life on a market stall.
