If you like your food to have a distinctly local feel then you might well feel at home at Horsham’s Big Nibble.
The local food and drink based spectacular, organised by Horsham District Council in conjunction with Horsham Markets will be held this weekend (September 6 and 7).
It is the launch event for the district wide Food and Drink Festival, which runs until October 5.
The core of the festival’s regional reputation is the quality of the two day Big Nibble Festival Market packed with the best local food and drink producers around. Saturday’s Big Nibble menu sees the return of the brilliant Live Cookery Theatre showcasing demonstrations from a selection of the county’s top chefs and local producers including last year’s Master Chef – The Professionals’ winner Stephen Edwards.
This is complemented by the annual Horsham Beer Trail, which this year starts from Piries Bar and finishes at The Black Jug on North Street, both sponsors.
Also today (Saturday) local food event company, Food Rocks’, bring The Little Nibble’, a new children’s food festival on Horsham Forum outside the town’s TK Maxx, which will be full of have a go activities designed to be both fun and appeal to a younger audience.
A huge range of street food, all of it with a local feel, is promised adding to the ever expanding range of restaurants, cafes, delis and many other specialist food shops that have put Horsham on the map as a foodies’ destination.
Marion Carter from Horsham Markets said: “We are thrilled to be working with the council again on the Big Nibble.
“This will be our fourth year bringing together local producers for the two day event and demand for stalls has been better than ever. Horsham has become a real food hub with our weekly local produce markets on Thursdays and Saturdays together with a fantastic choice of restaurants, specialist food shops and delis.
“The Big Nibble and the district’s Food and Drink Festival is a great opportunity to discover all that Horsham and the district has to offer.”
