CARATS Café Bar in Southwick hosted a Rotary summer barbecue, which raised around £725.

The Rotary Club of Brighton and Hove Breakfast Club held its annual summer barbecue at the Basin Road South café on Saturday, July 13.

Maria Rayner, one of the organisers, said: “It was a great evening and the weather could not have been better.”

More than 70 people, including club president Simon Jefferies, tucked in at the event, in its fourth year. The money raised will go to Dogs Trust Shoreham and the Martlets Hospice in Hove.

Café owner Chris Kraszewski said: “It’s important for us to give back, and hosting an event like this, with such good causes, is something that we are proud to be associated with at Carats.”
