Landfill site near Warnham targeted by burglars

BURGLARS used an excavator to steal a quad bike and compressor engine worth thousands from a landfill site.

Brookhurst Wood near Warnham was targeted between 8am on July 25 and 5am on July 26.

The bike, worth 5,000, and the engine, worth 3,000, were taken after the site was broken into.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "It appears offender/s have used an excavator on site to assist moving the property."

Anyone who may have heard or seen anything between these times around the location or who may have had similar items sold to them should contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 serial 226 of July 26.
