The Horsham Sparks in the Parks event is back at the weekend with a packed programme of attractions for all the family.
On Sunday (July 13) Horsham Park will be a hive of activity with a fun fair, sports, music and drama performances and community groups.
Horsham Park’s Nature Garden and Maze will launch celebrations of the town’s 400th Anniversary of the St Leonard’s Forest Dragon.
There will be a special dragon trail illustrating the legend and posing new questions as to how we would deal with dragons today.
Elsewhere in the park attractions include an open air story telling theatre, KAPOW alternative wrestling and visits from Paddington Bear courtesy of Action Medical Research, based in Horsham.
The event, organised by Horsham District Council, runs from 12noon to 5pm.
HDC cabinet member for arts, heritage and leisure, Jonathan Chowen, said: “This year’s Sparks in the Park is all set to continue as the must visit community event of the year.
“With Sparks now being scheduled a clear week before the schools break up I and the HDC team hope that even more families will take advantage of fantastic variety of entertainments planned and make it a great day out.”
There is free parking across all HDC’s town centre car parks. For details go to www.horsham.gov.uk
