The southbound A23 between the Pease Pottage and Bolney junctions in West Sussex will be closed overnight tonight (Monday June 17) between 8pm and 6am.
The work is part of a major upgrade currently underway on the A23 between Handcross and Warninglid.
It involves changing the road layout on the southbound carriageway through the roadworks ahead of the work progressing to a new phase.
A signed diversion route will be in place directing drivers between the M23 junction 11 and A23/A272 junction at Bolney, via the A264, the A24 Horsham bypass and the A272.
Following the closure, two narrow lanes will remain open in both directions, and the current 40mph speed limit will remain in place.
Drivers are advised to allow some extra time for their journeys if they plan to travel while the closure is in place.
