Steyning has been turned into a winter wonderland by today’s snowfall.
Several inches has fallen since about 8am today (Friday, January 18), blanketing the town and surrounding villages.
But it was not so wonderful for drivers, with the roads around the town becoming slippery, and what an eyewitness described as “chaos” in Steyning High Street earlier, with several cars skidding. Thankfully, the town’s neighbourhood wardens were on hand help.
And the town owes a debt of thanks to one community-minded local farmer, who turned his tractor into a snow-plough to help clear the roads.
