Youngsters arrived at schools across Mid Sussex on Thursday to collect their GCSE results.
National figures indicate that it has been another great year, with a high percentage of students gaining A*-C grades.

There was a sea of smiles at Oakmeeds Community College in Burgess Hill, where head teacher Colin Taylor reflected on a "great year".

There were similar celebratory scenes at Oathall Community College in Haywards Heath, where Jill Wilson, head teacher, said it had been "one of the best years" at the school for results.
