The number two is the trick up the sleeve of quicksilver card ace and magician Jonathan Cann.
The talented entertainer from Marle Avenue, Burgess Hill, is the first person to be elected for two periods of office as president of the South Downs Magicians group, having served before from 2004 to 2007.

Jonathan spends a lot of time enchanting children as an entertainer and Punch and Judy show presenter. He says children still love magic despite the counter-attraction of computers and television.

Jonathan and the illusionists who elected him will be disappearing from their usual monthly meeting place at the Ark community centre in Turners Hill in May. But true to form they will reappear, this time at Handcross Parish Hall, in June.

Anyone keen on joining the group can contact Jonathan on 01444 230409 or club secretary Paul Bromley on 01444 871161.
