Following last year’s sell-out success, Dr Phil’s Rude Health Show returns to Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre for one night only on Thursday, February 21.
Phil Hammond is a doctor, journalist, broadcaster and possibly the only comedian to have appeared at a public inquiry. Rude about everything, from politicians and doctors, to death, drugs and sex, his Radio 4 sitcom Polyoaks – about GPs struggling with the NHS reforms – was co-written with David Spicer and has just been re-commissioned for a third series.
Escaping from his surgery once again with another medicinal dose of hilarity, rudeness, and irreverence, Dr Phil returns to Guildford to answer all those awkward health questions…
Why, if we’re putting £105 billion into the NHS, is it still no safer than bungee jumping? How can you get out of hospital alive? Do GPs ever pretend to hear things with a stethoscope? And what happens to all the drugs that patients pretend to swallow?
He has been Private Eye’s medical correspondent since 1992, presented five series of Trust Me, I’m a Doctor on BBC2 and has appeared regularly on Have I Got News for You, The News Quiz, The Now Show, Countdown and The One Show.
