Sunday November 11, 10am: Meet at Beachy Head Road car park ‘F’ at entrance to ‘Belle Tout’, two miles south of East Dean. TV 567954 (parking charges apply). Remembrance Sunday walk, 8 miles. We’re out of our normal area on this special day in order to visit the new memorial to Bomber Command erected this summer at Beachy Head. After our two minutes silence we’ll have a splendid high level walk over the Downs returning through pretty East Dean. Hilly in places. Dogs welcome on a lead. Please bring a snack. Thursday November 8, 10am: Meet at the Sports Pavilion, Jubilee Fields, Billingshurst. Various circular walks over farmland along the River Arun and Wey Canal. Free, just turn-up. No dogs. 4 to 6 miles. Sue 01403 255710.

Friday November 9, 10am: Dragons Green, near Shipley, (roadside parking around the George and Dragon, TQ 139235, RH13 8GE). A 3½ mile flat (few stiles) through fields and woods and along minor roads to Shipley Windmill. 2 hours. Emmy 01403 255517 and Margaret 262311.

Monday November 12, 10am: Meet at the Sussex Oak car park, Warnham (TQ 158337). 6½ mile, fairly flat, figure of eight walk towards Rowhook. Free, just turn-up. No dogs. Tony 01403 269232.

Tuesday November 13, 10am: Park and meet in the Hen and Chicken car park, Southwater (TQ 158276, RH13 9BH). Flat easy (only 3 stiles) 3¼ mile sociable circular walk through farmland to Christ’s Hospital playing fields, along the Downs Link and back via Great House Farm. No dogs. 2 hours.
