Sunday January 27, 10am: Meet at the car park in Stanmer Park off A27 west of Sussex University (TQ 337097). “Just Plain, Downs and Bottoms”. A bracing winter walk on downland above Falmer that will briefly touch upon the South Downs Way at Plumpton Plain and reach the heights of Blackcap. 9½ miles. Dogs welcome on a lead. Please bring a snack. Gets a bit hilly. Public transport to the start point. Leaders Terry Owen and Peter Anderson, Per-Rambulations.

Thursday January 24, 10am: Meet at West Chiltington Village Hall (TQ 083179). Various circular walks, some stiles and moderate slopes, incorporating windmills, vineyards, llamas and good views of the South Downs. Free, just turn-up. No dogs. 4 to 5 miles. Sue 01403 255710.

Sunday January 27, 10am: Meet at RSPB Wiggonholt Overflow car park (TQ 061164). Hilly circular walk through Wiggonholt Common, past Parham Glider Field and through the spectacular Parham Park. Free, just turn-up. Dogs allowed on a lead. 5¼ miles. Mick 01903 745971.

Monday January 28, 10am: Park at the Owl Public House, Kingsfold (TQ 168364, RH12 3SA). 5 mile circular walk, mostly flat but one short steep hill and some stiles, through fields and woodland.
