FOLLOWING the success of its last Urban Day, Sompting's Hamble recreation ground is preparing to host a second event.
More than 100 youngsters attended the last event, which featured displays of BMX riding, skating, street dance and more.

The next Urban Day will be from 10.30am to 4pm on Wednesday. August 27.

Skaters will be able to learn new tricks and budding artists can work on their own masterpieces, with the help of urban artists.

DJs from the Gravity Project will be on hand to provide music and the street dancers will again be performing for the crowds.

Sport is not left out – young footballers can get stuck into street football in the latest piece of portable sports equipment, The Cage.

Urban Days are for young people aged 10-plus. Entry costs £2 and includes a free fruit smoothie from the "blender vendor" – a machine which makes smoothies as people cycle.

More information on the event is available from Tammy Waine on 01273 263319. P
arental consent is required and forms can be picked up at Adur Civic Centre, Ham Road Shoreham, and from libraries, leisure centres and youth clubs.

They can also be downloaded from the website www.adur.gov.uk
