TRIBUTES have been paid to a former GP, who has died at the age of 81.
Dr Michael Berkley worked as a GP in Lancing from 1961, running a surgery in South Street until his retirement in 1990.

"From all the cards that I have been getting, from people in the community and ex-patients, the one word that keeps coming up all the time is 'gentle'," said his widow, Ros Berkley.

"He was a much-loved doctor – one of the old-school GPs."

To read the full tribute to Dr Berkley see this week's Lancing Herald out today (Thursday, July 2).
