Flooding hits Horsham district

THE HEAVY rain on Friday (September 5) left two people trapped in a car and damaged a pub.
Around 8.30pm firefighters were called to Coates Lane, Fittleworth, where two elderly people were trapped in their car in flood water.
Around half an hour later, in Wisborough Green, a nearby pond burst its banks and the water entered the Bat and Ball pub.
Firefighters unblocked drains and the pub kitchen stock was salvaged.
