Driver killed in Bury Hill crash

THE driver of a sports car was killed and his wife was seriously injured in a crash on the A29 at Bury Hill, near Arundel, yesterday (Wednesday, February 18).

A red Porsche left the road and smashed into a tree at about 12.15pm. Police said no other vehicle was involved in the accident.

The driver of the car, a red Porsche, suffered fatal injuries and his wife was freed from the wreckage by firefighters and then airlifted by the Sussex Air Ambulance to the Royal London Hospital with serious injuries. Both are aged in their 50s.

Doctors in the SIMCAS emergency team helped paramedics at the scene, together with fire crews from Petworth, Storrington and Chichester.

Police are appealing to any witnesses to the accident to contact them on 0845 60 70 999, quoting Operation Bretton.
