TEMPORARY traffic lights will be in operation on the A27 for more than a month.
The Highways Agency will be carrying out drainage surveys, between 8pm and 5am, on the Arundel bypass, between Ford Road roundabout and Poling for four-and-a-half weeks, starting next Tuesday (February 24).

On single carriageway sections of the road, temporary traffic lights will be used during the works, and on dual carriageways, lane closures will be in operation.

Martin Wright, route performance manager at the Highways Agency, said: "These surveys will enable us to assess the condition of the drains along the A27.

"Although we are carrying out the surveys at night when traffic is lighter, we would ask road users to leave a little extra time for their journeys."

The routine surveys involve jetting drains to clear them, before a using a camera to view their condition. About 300m of drain will be surveyed each night.
