THE Queen Elizabeth II Cup – now also open to male riders and which heralds sweeping changes to the Longines Royal International Horse Show schedule – is to be sponsored by Old Lodge.
Hickstead, host to the oldest show on the British calendar since 1992, has announced it agreed to a request from the Fédération Equestre Internationale to change the format of this historical class.

The Queen Elizabeth II Cup was presented in 1949 and has been open only to lady riders. It now becomes a prestigious national final with a prize fund of £9,000, open to the top 20 male and female riders on the British Show Jumping Association's International Trial List.

Riders will qualify at county shows, and as well as giving the national circuit a well-needed boost it will also give the second tier of male riders an extra opportunity to qualify for the show.
