CYBERMEN made a dramatic invasion at Selsey.
But instead of creating a huge battle, their arrival was welcomed.

The enemies from the BBC TV series Doctor Who appeared at Bunn Leisue Holiday Park, where they were applauded by guests rather than being vanquished.

Their arrival was a taste of things to come in July and August 2009, when the family holiday park will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.

On selected dates next summer, guests will have the chance to confront a Clockwork Droid, Sycorax, Judoon, Ood, Scarecrow and Cyberman from the hit show. The creatures will make 16 individual appearances.

In the classic era of Doctor Who, the Cybermen came from Earth's twin planet - Mondas - whose humanoid inhabitants had gradually replaced their body parts with cybernetic components, losing their humanity in the process. When the show was revived, a new version of the Cyber race was created wholesale from humans on a parallel Earth.

The Cybermen have come to rival the Doctor's arch-enemy the Daleks in the villain stakes.
