TV quiz staged at the Capitol
In response to your Memory Lane article re The Capitol Theatre, I do have special memories of the theatre.
In the 1960s I was part of the team representing Forest Girls’ School in the Full Marks quiz – against the Boys’ School, filmed at The Capitol Theatre.
The quizmaster was Kenneth Horne – he put us all at ease before the show, giving us wine gums and being very jovial and kind.
A few days later the quiz was shown on TV. My family and a lot of the neighbours gathered in one house to watch. It seemed so peculiar to see myself on TV (my 15 minutes of fame).
I enclose a copy of the picture featured in the West Sussex County Times during the filming (I am second from left).
