CENTRAL Juniors School in Chichester held an arts day to welcome pupils who will be joining the school in September.
Year 2 youngsters from Rumboldswhyke and Lancastrian infant schools were invited to Central Juniors for the day to meet the Year 3 pupils and their new teachers for the next academic year.

Activities included ceramics, arts, use of the ICT suite and drama workshops, which were linked to the book Giraffes Can't Dance.

At the end of the day pupils presented what they had done during an assembly.

Deputy head Sam Budd said: "It was a really fun day – the children got so much enjoyment from it.

"The day takes away a lot of the unknown for when they start in September. They get to meet their new teachers, make some new friends and it gives them more confidence when they start."
