A new outdoor classroom at a Chichester infants' school has been officially opened.
In January this year works to create an outdoor environment for Years 1 and 2 at Lancastrian Infants School got under way, but now the unique learning space has been completed.

Pupils will be able to get their hands on new specially-adapted musical instruments, which are made for the outside.

New decking and canopies were built at the school's quadrangle building to create the new outdoor classroom.

School secretary Aileen O'Grady said: "The children absolutely love it, it's a lovely environment for them to be in.

"We had to wait for our old pond to be relocated somewhere else before
we laid the foundations. What we have done is just improved on what already was a lovely area of land.

"We purchased lots of exciting new equipment to support all areas of the curriculum. Reception children already have an outside area on the other side of the quadrangle."
