While the Seagulls wait on what appears to be the imminent arrival of Ecuador star Moses Caicedo, gossip is flooding in from elsewhere.
As per Football League World (FLW), Brighton remain keen on MK Dons defender Matthew Sorinola – but they aren’t the only ones.
At the beginning of the month, Albion, plus the likes of Crystal Palace, Leeds United, West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion were credited with interest in the 19-year-old.
Now, those links have resurfaced with the Seagulls and Swansea City named as the two clubs heading the chase.
FLW claims Brighton believe Sorinola has similar potential to Tariq Lamptey – who recently signed a new contract at the Amex Stadium.
That said, a move for Sorinola might not necessarily be imminent as the League One club hope to keep the player for at least one more year to continue to develop.
Also, with previous deals in the past, Graham Potter and co have shown their willingness to loan players back to the club they bought them from.
Meanwhile, Brighton are open to selling Jose Izquierdo after a torrid time with injuries on the South Coast.
The Colombian joined the Seagulls in the summer of 2017 for a club-record fee but hasn’t featured in the first-team since the 2018/19 campaign.
He missed a large chunk of that season before missing the entire 2019/20 campaign, both due down to injury.
And according to Voetbal 24 via Sport Witness, Brighton are looking for around £8.8million to cash in on the 28-year-old.
The attacker has been linked with a return to Belgium with Anderlecht, Antwerp, KRC Genk and AA Gent and Club Brugge.
Here’s a round-up of some of the other transfer rumours involving Brighton and their top-flight rivals this morning:
